The Editors of the International Review of Applied Financial Issues
and Economics thank all reefers. Their professional assistance
is most appreciated.
A referee report consists of two parts: (i) a cover
massage that includes a summary opinion, and (ii) the longer, more
detailed report itself, intended to be transmitted to the author(s).
We prefer reports by e-mail. Postal mail and faxes are also acceptable.
The preferred formats are Word or PDF documents.
Peer review objective
To select high quality articles, the review maintains
a standard double-blind peer review processes.
The review strives to ensure that neither referee knows the author
(s) or the other referee, and vice versa.
Cover message
The summary opinion to editor should be one of the
following:
Accept in present
form or with slight changes
Accept (with minor
revisions)
Reject
Revise and resubmit
Comments for authors
Prepare your comments that include your reasons, suggestions and
concerns. Comment on the manuscript’s originality, clarity,
contribution to literature. Make suggestions about its length, organization,
tables, and figures. If there is an important idea in the paper,
make constructive comments and help authors publish the paper.
There are no guidelines on length of referees’ comments, other
that the report should be long enough to provide a sufficient background
for referee’s recommendation to the editor. On the average,
the reports are 3 pages long, but there are shorter ones (often
those recommending rejection) as well as longer ones (e.g., those
with many specific comments).
